Sri Suria Curry House

Hi guys,

I was craving for banana leaf meal recently after my exam in UNITAR, so I asked my friend whether he knows any shop around campus which serves banana leaf meal and he immediately suggested  Sri Suria Curry House, he said the the food there taste really good and the price is affordable. So me and two of my friends went there to give a try.

The restaurant is quite near to our campus, it took only 5 minutes for me to drive from campus to the restaurant. The route is easy and the landmark for the restaurant is the Sri Sakthi Easwari Temple which is located across the restaurant. The restaurant is owned by an local media personally and entrepreneur named Alvin Anthons.

yogurt drink RM(2.50)
My friend's meal (Kathiravan,a groupmate for this project) ordered a set of ghee chapati and bru coffee with cow milk, to those who likes coffee, they should not miss this drink.

a set of ghee capati (RM1.80)

We also ordered some egg sambal as a side order
egg sambal (RM1.60)
Over all the food is very nice and satisfying. I was also satisfied with the service provided and friendly waiters. I had a pleasent time and food. Below is the menu of Sri Suria Curry House.

As you see the menu, the price for ordinary food like roti canai and roti telur is slightly higher, this is because the owner of the restaurant, Alvin Anthon wants to serve the customer not only an affordable meal but also a good and satisfying meals. He found out that by the reducing the cost of meals, the quality of the meals are also being reduced, due to the sub standard products. He believe that the quality of food should be the main priority. A good place to go for supper or just to hang out after class

Hello readers =D

For those of you who are staying in the hostels around Kelana Jaya looking for a good and affordable food, here is something that the most of the seniors recommend "Nasi Lemak Bumbung". Its business hours are from 6pm to 2am or 3am depends on the crowd and it's closed on Fridays. The shop is located at Sea Park PJ. In the alley between of two shop house. Even if the shop is located in an alley, the place is quite clean and bright. The landmark for the place is the Sea Park Maybank branch.

As soon as I reach to the place, the waiter took the order before I take a seat, As for me, since its my first time there, I was really surprised with the amount of people there, it was 10 pm but the place was very packed, and yes the waiter did make sure there is place to sit before he takes the order. I ordered what my friend suggested me, their famous "nasi lemak ayam " and for the drink he suggest me limau ais and my friend who wants to try something new there he ordered mutton fried rice which was suggested by the waiter. I am impressed with their service as my nasi lemak arrives as soon as I took my seat. I admit, this was one of the best nasi lemak I had and the limau ais is quite good too.
the side view of the nasi lemak ayam

the top view of the nasi lemak ayam
The nasi lemak was very enjoyable, rice cooked with coconut milk (the usual), with some satisfying sambal, egg fried in "mata kerbau" style and best part of the nasi lemak, the juicy fried chicken.  The chicken is real nice, marinated with species and deep fried.
For my friend who ordered the mutton fried rice, he said "this is amazing bro, the taste is superb", I got a chance to try his mutton fried rice, and yes, the fried rice was amazing.

the mutton fried rice

The mutton rice was nice cooked with some mutton which is marinated with spices and fried, and the seasoning for the fried rice is just nice to match with the mutton and it also comes with the egg fried in "mata kerbau" style

For our drink, both of ordered us the same drink which is "limau ais", the drink was pretty good. Besides limau ais, I read from the other blogs, that their "teh o ais limau" is something not to be missed too.

the limau ais

And the cost of the food is quite cheap, the nasi lemak ayam cost only RM 4.50, the mutton fried rice cost RM 7.50 and drink limau ais cost RM 1.50
so my total bill was RM 4.50 + RM 1.50 = RM 6.00
and
my friend's bill was RM7.50 + RM 1.50 = RM 9.00

This is one of those places where i had a good meal and leave happily after paying the bill which is cheap. I will be returning to this place for the nasi lemak ayam again, no doubt about it. This is a good place to go to after classes that ends at 5.30 or just as a supper for those who are staying around campus.

me and my friend (hamen) also one of my groupmates for this project

Wondering how to get there?? here is the direction from campus to the location of the restaurant.

Restoran Cina Muslim Mohd Chan Abdullah

Calling all fans of Chinese foods that would want to have Halal and authentic Chinese Cuisine!

I am, myself, a fan of Chinese food, and the fact that I am a Muslim, it is quite hard for me to get authentic Chinese food that is Halal. However, Restoran Cina Muslim Mohd Chan Abdullah solves it all.

This shop is located in Dataran Glomac, Kelana Jaya. I have always had this feeling of serenity whenever I come here, all those memories I had back then.

So.. me and my friends recently dined in there for lunch on Friday. Since the lunch time on Friday is quite long due to Friday Prayer, so we can go out for food-hunting!

From UNITAR International University, the restaurant is located at a walking distance make it convenient for us to go there.

My personal favourite will always be their Hokkien Yee Mee, which is yee mee served with dark soy sauce and topped with vegetable and fried wonton, garnished with chopped spring onions and crispy fried onions, and lastly with your preferred chicken: bbq/roasted. I usually will accompany this dish with Chicken Dim Sum -- which is 3 pieces per set. The Dim Sum is tasty and I really love the texture.

Hokkien Yee Mee with BBQ Chicken, RM5.50 and Chicken Dim Sum, RM3.90

For those who prefer to eat rice during lunch, you can also try their signature dish, Nasi Ayam Mohd Chan. However, the portion is quite small and there is nothing special about it though -- told by a friend who ordered this.

Nasi Ayam Mohd Chan, RM5.50

So for those who are interested, the address:

Fariz Cafe

Hello readers!

Recently Fariz Maju Restaurant expanded their business and open up a new outlet in UNITAR International University, Tierra Crest, Kelana Jaya.

I would like to share some information on my university to you guys,
UNITAR was located at Leisure Commerce Square, Bandar Sunway, Petaling Jaya. But recently, the university moved to Tierra Crest, Kelana Jaya -- right beside the Balai Polis Kelana Jaya.

Alright.. So, the famous Fariz Maju Restaurant open up a new outlet named Fariz Cafe at Ground Flour, Tierra Crest. The opening of Fariz Cafe can be said as a very successful business plan for Fariz Maju since the people working and studying at Tierra Crest had been waiting for a real restaurant serving Asian cuisine with affordable and reasonable price.

During breakfast and lunch time, Fariz Cafe usually will be full-house due to the overwhelming response from the customers.

Since the opening, I, myself have been dining in for lunch with my friends over there. I usually had their Cheese Naan with Tandoori Chicken or Nasi Campur. The price range for a normal lunch would never exceed RM10 unless you have a really big appetite.

Nasi Campur: Rice, Fried Herbs Chicken, & Mixed Curries, without Vegetables
RM5.50

Cantonese Kuey Teow, RM7.90

Fariz Cafe has a lot of workers -- more than 10 people I think. So their serve fast and you'll get your food not more than 20 minutes even during peak hours.

The foods are tasty and serve in generous portion. It is clearly shown in the pictures above. So, for anyone with tight budget and looking for a hearty meal, you can go to Fariz Cafe to have your breakfast/lunch/brunch or even early dinner!

Their normal Naan set is only RM2.00. That's really really cheap right?

Okay, so to those who would like to try dining in at Fariz Cafe, here's the address:
